Flat White Boer Pumpkin
One of only a few “local” pumpkin and squash varieties Flat White Boer pumpkin is well adapted to the South African climate and can withstand dry conditions really well. The history of this pumpkin is not well known apart from the fact that it was most probably developed by early Dutch settlers in South Africa.
Sweet yellow flesh under a creamy white skin with excellent yields. Flat White Boer Pumpkin gives very good yields as compared with other winter squashes. Fruits can get really big, under ideal conditions it is not uncommon to harvest fruits of 10kg and more. The plants tend to be expansive in growth habit therefore allow lots of space. You can plant these in half shade if you wish.
